Samsung A71

A step-by-step C-mount mod guide. Required equipment: a vernier caliper, a C-mount tube, epoxy resin and screws. The modification is permanent and irreversible - consider your decision carefully before proceeding, and have basic knowledge of how to disassemble the Samsung A71.

The author is willing to provide his 3D files as an example, though they may require some minor adjustments.

• Open the back cover using a heat gun or isopropyl alcohol.
• Remove the screws and take off the internal plastic frame/midframe.
• Disconnect the camera connectors.
• Locate the main camera, covered by a metal shield - remove that shield.
• Remove the lens and the metal housing from the main camera module.
• Measure the distance between the C-mount and the sensor (flange focal distance).
• Design and create a base for the C-mount using a 3D printer.
• Attach the 3D-printed C-mount base onto the phone camera lens glass using epoxy resin.
• Double-check for alignment and accuracy.
