It features a single 1-inch type 20MP Bayer sensor which records up to 5472x3688px 25fps RAW in MotionCam and up to 4K 60fps in MP4. No root available. Used units usually cost about $100-200.
This device is easy to modify: the camera bump is a rectangular aluminium-plastic sandwich. The drillable 28mm x 44mm area allows screwing in a 25.4mm C-Mount and using the camera module plastic casing as a platform for gluing the mount. The setup is pretty sturdy and has been paired with heavy M42 lenses with no support.
C-Mount lenses require a 1mm spacer to catch the horizon line into focus at infinity, while huge M42 lenses don't. The built-in lens is not glued so it can be unscrewed easily; the protective glass is removed by heating and pushing it out.
Known issue: purple tint, most prominent in good light. Can be fixed by using our custom camera app or in post.
